Rose – Feel Beautiful, Be Beautiful!

Rose – Feel Beautiful, Be Beautiful!

Today is 8th of March. In some parts of the world today is International Women Day. Great Holiday. In Russia this day men are in big trouble and roses are sold 10 more expensive than usual and are actually hard to get if getting late with purchase. Roses are beautiful flowers. And of course are very popular to show women how beautiful and appreciated they are.

So roses! Roses have long been symbol of beauty and love. The sweet and gentle aroma of these flowers is amazing. But here we have a blog devoted to natural cosmetics. And good news is roses are not only making a woman feel beautiful and loved but is producing some wonderful ingredients to keep a woman beautiful.

There is a variety of rose. Damask Rose, Rose Otto, Alpine Rose. There are up to 50 well known kinds. And some of them widely used to produce very beneficial ingredients.

So the most commonly used will be Rose Water, Rose Macerated oil, Rose Essential Oil, Rose CO2 and Glycerol Extracts.

The most used maybe because easily used as is Rose water. Rose water is lightly fragrant with sweet Rose Aroma. Damask and Rose Otto Aroma is slightly but not majorly different but it is said to be good as anti-depressant. Rose water is leaving very fresh and hydrated feel on the skin. To be honest I believe I have not made so many facial toners without this ingredient especially in this region. The reason is that first of all Rose water helps maintain PH level of the skin and control oil. It is working wonders in the heat when the face seems to always be sweaty and shiny. The same time Rose water has powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which is saving the skin from breaking into acne and dermatitis. It is also helping to heal the scars and hydrate the skin after sun. Due to the astringent like properties it possesses, rose water helps clean pores and tone the skin. Applying rose water after steaming tightens capillaries, reduces redness and blotchiness. And plus the nice fresh feel on the skin is great. Sometimes feels even cooling after the heat.

You can use Rosewater alone as a face toner, make-up remover, hair spray if you have problem with dry frizzy hair. Or can be combined with other hydrosols to make wonderful face toners and is also a great replacement of commonly used pure water in any cream, lotion or balm.

Rose essential oil is also a great ingredient. It can be used in perfumery and aromatherapy as they say the rose aroma puts people into romantic mood, think about love and sweet memories.

There are many qualities of rose essential oil that make it beneficial for skin. The antimicrobial and aromatherapy benefits alone are good reason to put a few drops in your DIY lotions and creams. It regulates hormone production and helps to balance them throughout the body. It is one of the best oils to give you shining, fresh and youthful skin. It makes the scars and after marks of, acne and pox on the skin fade quickly. This includes the fading of stretch marks, surgery scars, and fat cracks associated with pregnancy and delivery. Much of this is due to the antioxidant activity of rose essential oil, which spurs on the healing processes of the skin.

So to sum it up. Rose besides being a symbol of love is a great anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent in the skincare. As well as toning rejuvenating and hydrating.
