Feet Natural Care

So now with the hot season coming our feet become wide open to all the street hazards with the summer footwear. Plus, possible swelling due to hot weather! From my personal experience feet covered with cotton socks in a mild climate sure do require much less care than in hot humid place, covered with thin sand and dust while wearing sandals. This is what some of us get in this environment. There is absolutely no way to keep your feet dry and clean in case if you go out walking in this weather, therefore, no way to keep sand and dust from sticking to the wet skin and rubbing on the shoes while you walk. Some people have problems especially in summer time with dry cracked feet mostly because of this. Of course, not so many go taking a long walk outside in the Middle Eastern summer but not that none of us can avoid going out or would be too much eager to go ahead and wear socks and covered shoes in this heat.

I’d like to share a few tips to help your feet remain healthy and beautiful.

Of course, the main tips one cannot avoid!

  • Use scrubs when washing your feet. If your feet are dry do use natural moisturizing scrubs like coconut based! They may seem greasy to some but, they would do a great job helping your skin remain hydrated.
  • When washing daily use loofah or similar, to make sure that you can wash properly and with natural materials. Well, this applies to entire body as well.
  • Moisturize! Every day if needed. This may seem troublesome but is so much better than fighting cracked feet with a centimeter of dry skin to pile off
  • Use foot file or stone to remove dead skin when you are washing
  • Do give your feet a home spa at least once a week. Yes, your feet will feel so much better after just a couple of weeks
  • Change your shoes! Try to avoid wearing same shoes every day. Allow your shoes to air properly and make sure to keep them clean!
  • Avoid using too many synthetic deodorants. The smell is coming from fungus and bacteria so it is always best to fight the cause, not the consequence. Treat your feet with anti-bacterial and anti-fungus natural products. And there some fantastic ingredients which will help a lot!

Some of the great ingredients to consider!

Tea tree - Use tea tree oil to relieve athlete's foot. One study found that tea tree oil was as effective remedy for athlete's foot for relieving burning, itching, inflammation, and scaling.

Cinnamon - Antioxidant-rich cinnamon softens rough, tired skin.

German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) has strong anti-inflammatory properties and is analgesic as well as anti-inflammatory.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is a very powerful bactericidal with anti-viral properties. Eucalyptus is an excellent immune stimulant and is good for people who are tired, run down

You can always use citrus oils which are working wonders with the feet giving not just the antioxidant action but also a beautiful fresh aroma!
